Cultural Awareness Information, training, programmes.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are the first peoples of Australia and as such hold a unique place in Australia’s history and culture.
Cultural Awareness is not just knowing about other cultures, being culturally aware or being sensitive to other cultures. It's about having the right knowledge, behaviours, attitudes, policies and systems that enable you to work effectively in cross-cultural situations and respond to the needs of a culturally diverse population. In order for MURRA to succeed in playing a lead role in Closing the Gap in representation of Indigenous Peoples in Corporate roles in Australia - we need to create Culturally safe workplaces.
We believe that you can't understand a culture unless you live and breathe it. Most Australian workplaces have a strong emphasis of WHS/HSEQ giving regular training and information sessions. Our aim at MURRA is to prioritise Culturally Safe information sessions and training to every workplace in Australia.
MURRA Partners understands the importance of creating culturally safe workplaces and culturally aware leaders that respect the traditional custodians and landowners.
We're also firm believers in promoting diversity in the workplace form all areas and at all levels.
MURRA collaborates with multiple stakeholders in our communities to create robust information and training sessions to deliver to individuals or executives in influential positions or teams.
We also offer the option to provide trips to remote communities for leadership away days so that executives can immerse themselves into Aboriginal Culture and understand more about the connection that Indigenous Peoples have with land and sea.
